Delete your Damiano account

Last updated: 3 August 2026

Damiano is a shared baby-care log. This page explains how to delete your account, what gets deleted, what is kept, and for how long. You do not need the app installed to read it, and you do not need an account to ask us to delete one.

Delete your account from inside the app

  1. Open Damiano and go to the Family tab → Settings.
  2. Scroll to the account section and tap Delete account.
  3. Read what happens, enter your password, type DELETE to confirm, and tap Delete my account.

Your account is deleted immediately. There is no waiting period and no email confirmation step — the password you just entered is the confirmation.

If you cannot open the app

Email support@damiano.app from the address you signed up with and ask for your account to be deleted. We will verify that the request comes from the account holder and delete the account within 30 days.

What is deleted

What is kept, and why

A Family Space is a shared record kept by several people about one child. The entries you wrote — feeds, nappy changes, sleeps, medication doses — stay with the family, still shown under the name you used, after your account is gone.

This is deliberate. Deleting one caregiver’s entries would leave holes in a child’s medical history that the remaining parents and carers rely on and did not consent to lose. Your account is yours; the care record belongs to the Family Space.

Kept:

If you want specific entries removed from a family you were part of, ask one of that family’s admins — they can retract individual entries — or ask the family to delete the whole Family Space (below).

Deleting a whole Family Space

If you are the only person in a Family Space, deleting your account also schedules that Family Space for permanent deletion. It is erased 30 days later, and the 30-day delay exists so a deletion made in a difficult moment can still be undone.

If other people are still in the Family Space and you are its only admin, the app will ask you to make someone else an admin before you can delete your account. This keeps a family from losing access to their own child’s record because one person left.

How long until the data is really gone

Step When
Account (credentials, sessions, devices) deleted immediately
Family Space erased, if you were its only member 30 days after the request
Erased data expires from backup copies not applicable today — we keep no long-term backups

So data covered by an erasure ceases to exist within 30 days of the request. If we ever introduce backups, this page will say so and will state how long an erased record can persist in them before it expires; we will not quietly widen the window.
